Kim Brio-Cox is a founder and systems designer who builds brands, tools, and media that don't exist yet. Through Brio Cox Group, the Chicago company she co-founded, she develops businesses, creative IP, and human-centered systems.

The through-line
I taught myself to code around age 10 and sold handmade beaded lanyards to my mother's coworkers at 12. By high school I was building websites for churches and small businesses. Twenty-five years later, the scale has changed. The instinct hasn't.
The work has moved through entrepreneurship, community building, brand strategy, media ownership, creative IP, and now human-centered systems. Each chapter has added another layer of capability instead of replacing the one before it.
“I'm less interested now in fitting ideas into existing categories than in building the one that's missing.”
What I build
The medium changes. The underlying work doesn't: identify what is missing, clarify the structure, and turn complexity into something people can actually use.

Ideas + writing
My writing looks at what happens when people are misunderstood, institutions fail, dignity becomes conditional, and better systems are possible but have not yet been built.
A living archive devoted to Black people lost in suspicious, violent, disputed, or institutionally neglected circumstances.
Research and essays about what happens when the explanation for your life arrives late — and what recognition changes afterward.
What every person should be able to expect from society and its institutions simply because they are human.
A public solutions laboratory for evidence-informed plans, implementation models, and detailed “BUILD THIS” proposals.
Speaking + Media
Kim is available for keynotes, conference sessions, panels, fireside chats, workshops, podcasts, interviews, expert commentary, and virtual events.
What changes when we stop misreading people and start redesigning the systems around them.
Why multidisciplinary careers aren't broken — and how to build with everything you've learned.
How creators and founders turn attention into something they actually own.
What happens when technology starts adapting to humans instead of demanding humans adapt to it.
Working with Kim
Kim is most useful when the opportunity is real, the moving pieces are numerous, and the obvious answer is not necessarily the right one.
The requested page, campaign, dashboard, offer, or partnership may be part of the answer — but first, identify the friction it is meant to solve.
Not every audience, project, service, or idea belongs under the same message. Clarity often comes from defining what should remain separate.
The system has to remain usable by the actual people responsible for it — including during busy, uncertain, or low-capacity periods.
The goal is not a brief moment of polish. It is an asset, system, or foundation that can keep supporting decisions and growth.
